There’s no beating around the bush with this one: Fiat’s new ad for the 124 Spider makes it perfectly clear that this car is so much fun to drive, it will give even impotent old men the ability to develop, and sustain, an erection capable of satisfying their aging-yet-lustful wives.
Faaaaantastic.
This new commercial, which Fiat released on the internet on May 12, follows in the footsteps of the car maker’s 2014 commercial that showed a 500 swelling and stiffening up into a 500X when a distinctive (yet different enough to avoid copyright infringement!) blue pill plops into its gas tank. Indeed, the new 124 Spider commercial reuses many of the same elements as that ad, all the way down to the same horny husband-and-wife characters and their unfortunate choice of wardrobe.
But where that ad flirted with subtlety, this new commercial throws subtext to the wind with the enthusiasm of an elderly gentleman tossing his Viagra bottle out of a 124 Spider because the car has given him a proper erection.Which is a scene that actually occurs in this ad.
Fiat has also released a second commercial for the 124 Spider, which features a hip Wyclef Jean soundtrack, a pair of stylish young yuppies, and aerial footage filmed from the back of a white-tailed eagle as it follows the roadster along a winding country road. But that ad isn’t likely to break the Internet or inspire an irate open letter from Focus on the Family, so we’re not going to devote an entire post to it.
