After an Instagram picture of a previously unseen Maybach-branded G-Wagen sent us and much of the automotive community in a confused (yet pleasantly surprised) spiral just over a week ago, we now have official details about the Mercedes-Maybach G650 Landaulet—specifically, what makes it worthy of the lofty Maybach name.

The Landaulet, announced Sunday, is a 630-horsepower, twin-turbo V12-powered, Maybach-crafted, portal axle-equipped, soft-top G-Wagen four-door. Basically, it’s a sibling to the already mind-blowing G63 4×4-G63 6×6 lineup—one dripping with even more luxurious goodness, a Maybach badge, and an electronically opening and closing soft top.

It’s pretty hard to gauge just how luxurious this thing is through words, however. Sure, it has heated cup holders, airplane-inspired reclining rear seats, and so on, but you really have to take to the pictures to get a proper feel for what Maybach is delivering with this G-Wagen.

See what we mean? This thing is just too damn much.

The Landaulet can be seen in person at the Geneva Motor Show in March. Only 99 examples are being built, and those will go on sale in the fall. Pricing has not yet been announced….but like every car wearing the Maybach name, you can bet this G-Wagen won’t be cheap.
