It’s a new year. That means there are new Ryobi BOGO deals and discounts at the Home Depot. One of the best parts of these deals, I mean the best part is getting free stuff, but another great thing is that with most of these, you can pick it out online and then pick it up in the store the same day. But, if it isn’t in stock locally, or you don’t feel like heading down to your local store, you can still get it shipped straight to your front door.
BOGO sales aren’t anything new for either Ryobi or Home Depot. So let’s look at what’s going on this week. The free tools in the offer range from the least expensive Handheld Cordless Vacuum, which retails for $34.97 and up to $79.00 for the Reciprocating Saw, Oscillating Multi-Tool, or Power Scrubber. I know we’re all tempted to immediately chose the tool with the highest price. But I would urge you to forget the price and consider utility instead. What are you going to get the most use from?
The Oscillating tool may be one of the higher priced tools. It might just sit in your cabinet for those who don’t do much work around. the house. If you mostly work on cars, the Angle Grinder that retails for $59.97 may be the better choice for you. If you already have most of the power tools you need, you may want to get a free 2.0Ah battery.
We know what you get free, so what do you buy to get the free tool? There are two deals, both offering savings on the combo itself. The first is a ONE+ 18V Lithium-ion Starter Kit for $99.00. If you’re new to Ryobi or need to stock up on battery packs, this is a great choice. You get a 2.0Ah and a 4.0Ah battery along with a charger. The retail price for the three times is $203.94, plus you get to pick a free tool, so that’s a great deal.
RYOBI ONE+ 18V Lithium-Ion Starter Kit: 2.0Ah, 4.0 Ah Battery, and Charger for $99.00
Your other choice to take advantage of the BOGO offer is $149.00. With that, you’re getting a Drill Driver, an Impact Driver, two 2.0Ah battery packs, a charger, and a tool bag. Both of the tools and the batteries in this kit go for 50 to 60 bucks apiece. I have a hard time assigning much value to the charger or the bag, but they’re nice to get. Ryobi says this an “over $400 value,” which I think is pretty optimistic. Realistically, all of this stuff is normally a little over 200 bucks, plus you’re getting a free tool, so this is worth taking advantage of.
