According to Experian, the average American forks out $735 every month for a car payment. This Gocio folding electric bike, with up to 50 miles of range, is on sale at Walmart for only $539.99 right now. However, t’s only one of the many e-bike deals worth considering today.
Since I wrote a review of the Blaupunkt e-bike, I’ve been bombarded with ads for them on social media and I’ve received several offers for loaner bikes from other companies to do reviews. Not that I mind, I enjoyed reviewing the Blaupunkt bike much more than I thought I would. I also found an e-bike to be a perfect complement to a lot of car enthusiasts’ lifestyles.
Now, I want to be upfront about this, the Gocio bike is probably not as rugged as Walmart’s description would have you believe. I am sure this will get you to the grocery store or back and forth to work, but I would struggle to call this an actual mountain bike. It may have full suspension and disc brakes, but I’d probably stick to the road or maintained paths. Its maximum speed is 22 mph and its maximum load is 330 lb, which is actually quite a lot for an e-bike. Most importantly, the lithium-ion battery is UL-certified and it, the motor, and the controller have a 1-year warranty. Walmart offers a 3-year extension for $58 if you’re concerned.
I’ve also found a number of bikes on sale if you want to spend more money. Aventon makes a number of well-regarded e-bikes in the business, and they aren’t marked down, but you will gt $700 in free accessories with your purchase to sweeten the deal. The Aventon Abound Cargo Ebike $1,999 is looking pretty good to me. I like the extra utility of a bike with a bed. If you want an e-bike that is more electric motorcycle than a simple commuter, then Revzilla is closing out its Intense Tazers and these will rip on dirt trails.
