Every weekend around the country, there’s bound to be some truck happenings that are worth briefly mentioning. From overlanding to racing, custom shows to crazy videos, the internet never disappoints. Here are three events that caught my eye this past weekend:

1. Dino’s Chevy Only Gitdown 2016

Dino Battilana’s name reigns supreme in the world of C-10 trucks as he’s built some very impressive rigs in the past on top of his unwavering love for the bowtie. Every year, he throws an event dubbed the “Git Down” where Chevy truck owners are invited to bring their rides to Dino’s shop in Phoenix, AZ. This event is held on the eve of the Scottsdale Good Guys Southwest Nationals show. As you can see from the video below, C10s of all kinds show up for the event and even a few (automotive) celebs like Gas Monkey’s Aaron Kaufman show up, too.

2. BAJA 1000

For the third straight year, Rob MacCachren secured the win in the Trophy Truck class. He finished the course in 17 hours, 12 minutes and 57.480. The official times were posted on Sunday on the Score International Off-Road Racing website. Head over to Score International’s site for all the results. In the world of UTVs, the Polaris Team RZR destroyed the competition, sweeping the podiums in both the Pro Turbo and Pro Naturally Aspirated classes. This particular growing genre seems to do a much better job of covering the event. Check the video below from UTV Underground:

3. WEST TEXAS TRUCK MANNEQUIN CHALLENGE

The Mannequin Challenge has been done to death and although there’s some pretty some good ones out there, it’s about to time to wrap it up. In the truck world, there hasn’t been many (quality) attempts but I stumbled across the one below from the custom truck guys of West Texas.
