Today on Drive Wire, The Drive discusses the news that more than half a million drones have been registered with the Federal Aviation Administration since the U.S. government created a system to do so. According to Earl Lawrence, the FAA’s director in charge of safely integrating unmanned flying machines into the nation’s airspace, around 550,000 drones have been registered in the last nine months—around 2,000 every week. The numbers are so high, the FAA has begun considering a future where millions of unmanned aerial vehicles could dot American skies.
