In an effort to break into the mainstream motorcycle market in the U.S., MV Agusta is launching a roadside assistance program in what is likely an attempt to make its bikes more attractive to American riders.
In partnership with Motorcycle Towing Services, all MV Agusta bikes model year 2017 and newer will get two years of roadside assistance from the time of purchase. The towing is covered 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
If you have any concerns about Italian reliability from a relatively small brand, this new service along with the two-year warranty should make these fantastic bikes more attractive. There might be a lot of riders who love the look and performance of MV Agusta motorcycles but worry about reliability and customer support from the factory.
MV Agusta can afford to offer this program thanks to a big investment from Russian firm Black Ocean Investment Group announced in July. The firm is in the process of buying back Mercedes-Benz’s 25 percent ownership of MV Agusta. In a way, this investment from an outside source frees up MV Agusta to actually be more independent than they were before.
The new roadside assistance program should give a new competitive edge to MV Agusta. Expect the brand’s small dealer network in America to grow from just 33 dealers to, hopefully, many more in the near future.
