In a story that should come from Florida but somehow happened in Seattle, a 73-year-old man has been arrested for attempting to snort cocaine in front of a police officer during a traffic stop. The driver was arrested and booked into Washington’s King County Jail for narcotics possession, because that’s what happens when you attempt to snort cocaine in front of a police officer during a traffic stop.
According to Seattle Police, the man was pulled over on Tuesday, Dec. 1, for driving without his headlights on. Officer Nic Abts-Olsen, assuming, as one does, that the senior citizen behind the wheel was not going to start attempting to snort cocaine, went to his patrol car to check the man’s driving record. When Abts-Olsen returned to the Toyota, he found the driver “portioning out a scoop of cocaine from a small glass vial.”
The driver, who was born before sunscreen was invented, claimed the powdered substance contained “vitamins pills.” Officer Abts-Olsen, a keen lawman, promptly called bullshit. Seattle Police are yet to release the name of the accused, though Norman, Oscar, Chester and Leonard are all solid guesses.
